Football & Dieting...can they go hand in hand?

Happy 1st Sunday of football!!!!!!!!
It's the day A LOT of us having been waiting for since the Super Bowl in February. Sure, I know the official first day of the season was Thursday, but unless you're a Giants or Redskins fan, or one of your FANTASY guys was playing, you didn't really care about that game. For all intensive purposes today is the start of the football season and I couldn't be any more EXCITED. For the next 17, or so, weeks my Sunday schedule, and an occasional Monday and maybe even a few Thursdays, will consist of watching football or attending games in person.
My loyalties lie with the hometown team, the Houston Texans, but as a Fantasy Football player I tend to watch a lot of other games hoping that the players on my team will do well and score my team TONS of points. If they don't, well they'll just have to run laps on Tuesday, and noone likes that.
So, this leads me to the question...
Can football and dieting go hand in hand?
Football season brings with it tailgating & hotdogs, popcorn & peanuts, soda & beer, wings & nachos, none of which are "diet" foods. So how does a dieting woman survive the LONG football season?
I can't answer that question, but I'll be trying my hardest to avoid all of the aforementioned foods this football season, on my quest to loose weight.
I started a diet on Tuesday and so far it's going quite well. I know, I know, it's only been 5 days, but as a frequent dieter this time it feels different. I feel more motivated and confident in my dieting ability. I have a lot to loose, and I know it won't happen over-night, but I've set goals and this time I'm going to do it!
Have I convinced you yet, because I think I've totally convinced myself!
