Nothing goes better with Turkey...

than TEXAS football!

The Horns will be taking on the Aggies in a Thanksgiving night smack down. The Horns are favored by 35 in the game and have a lot to prove this weekend. Not only have the Aggies beat us the last 2 years in a row, but the BCS will be watching this game and we need to WIN and win BIG. It's all about the "STYLE" points so we can keep our #2 ranking in the BCS polls. A loss by BOTH Oklahoma vs. Ok. State and Texas Tech vs. Baylor would be GREAT too, but I'm not holding my breath.

For those of you who are a bit confused here's the Cliffs Notes version:

If all 3 teams (Texas, Texas Tech & Oklahoma) win there will be a 3-way tie in the Big 12 South and it will come down to who is ranked higher in the BCS poll come Sunday night to determine the winner of the Conference, because that's how the Big 12 South rolls. (The BCS rules are way more complicated and I'm not sure I understand how that WHOLE system works, but currently Texas is #2, OK. is #3 and Tech is #7)

If by chance Tech loses (crossing fingers) and there's a 2 way tie between Texas & Oklahoma, Texas would be the conference champion because they beat Oklahoma in their head to head match up.

If Oklahoma loses and there's a 2 way tie between Texas & Tech, Tech would be the conference champion because they beat Texas in their head to head match up.

If Texas loses (they better not!) and there's a 2 way time between Tech & Oklahoma, Oklahoma would be the conference champion because they totally annihilated Tech in their head to head match up.

Hook'em Horns...

It's another BIG football weekend for the UNDEFEATED Longhorns. They're headed up north, to Lubbock, to face the UNDEFEATED Texas Tech Red Raiders. On paper it looks to be a good, close, game. Both Big 12 teams are battling it out for the South title and the prediction is whomever wins will go on to play in the Big 12 title game, and then hopefully on to the BCS Championship game.
The sports fan in me wants a "good" game, but the Longhorn fan in me wants a blow-out. We are favored, not overwhelmingly, but after last weeks CLOSE game against Oklahoma State, I don't think my heart could take another nail biter, or my finger nails for that matter.
The game is on ABC, in prime-time, 7:00 p.m. CST. I will be on my couch cheering on the Horns, hoping for a win. I'm pretty sure we can do it.

One of the BIGGEST games in the Texas college football season will be played tomorrow. It's the Red River Rivalry, the annual game between the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners, held each year at a neutral facility, the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, TX. If you asked fans of either team, most would rather win this game than any other game in the season. It's that BIG a deal.

So to prepare the blogosphere for this really BIG event I'm posting some pictures. I'm sure you'll have no trouble figuring out where my allegiance lies.
