Have you seen my sidebar? Yeah, up there on the left...
Did you hear?
I'm going to Blogher and I'm SUPER excited!!!
Not only will I be attending an awesome bloggy conference.
I'll also be attending tons of UBER cool parties.
And meeting SO MANY awesome ladies (and a few guys) that I've only known through the Interwebz and Twitter.
It's like when you meet lots of unknown family members at a family reunion, but WAY more fun!
We'll be taking Chicago by stormat the end of July in exactly 36 days.
Along with my, "OMG, I'm going to Blogher!!" excitement there's a lot of "OMG, I'm going to Blogher!!" anxiety. The what ifs are creeping into my mind at an alarming rate.
Meeting so many new people for the first time can be a little over-whelming and I think my biggest fear is that no one will like me.
Okay, so I know it's a stretch, but it could happen.
I hope to gain lots of new blog knowledge while in Chicago, you know, if I'm not too drunk or hungover. (I hear there will be lots of drinking going on!)
I will definitely be posting more about the trip as it approaches. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions and concerns to address before I depart and I'm leaving it up to you to help me prepare.
And now that I think about it, I'm so totally not prepared.
I have so much shopping and planning and money saving to do.
Not sure how I'll get it all done in 36 days, but here's to hoping that I do.
If you've been to Blogher before I'd love to hear from you.
What do I need to know before I depart for Chicago?
If you're a NEWBIE, like me, I'd love to hear from you too.
What are you worried/scared/anxiety ridden about?

You have nothing to worry about! You are rooming with 2 of the coolest gals...HA! Just kidding, but you will have fun. I'll probably write a post about it, but do what you want-parties, sessions, eating-Take it all in, and when you are tired, rest. It's a marathon! I think Megan said it last week-dress how you are comfortable. Just like any group of people there will always be someone dressier than you and someone more casual. Just be you!
I am so excited! I know my sponsor (Go Girl) is also looking to sponsor a party so you will have to stop by Thursday at the Room 704 party I'll be there from 10:30-12:00!
Woo hoo! I can't wait!
It is going to be so much fun. I went last year and I say the key is not to worry about anything. Just be comfortable (wear comfy shoes) and save your voice 'cause you'll be talking A LOT!
Can't wait to meet you in person!
I, too, am attending my first Blogher conference and am starting to get squirrely. I feel like I am going to a two day summer camp where all the cool kids already know each other. I really hope I can shake it off by the time the conference rolls around. I actually had a dream that I attended and was too shy to introduce myself to anyone and left meeting no one. Not that I am neurotic or anything.
I'll be a BlogHer newbie this year, and I definitely have a little anxiety about it too. Mostly around the "OMG what am I going to wear to make me look my prettiest, because I know bloggers, and I know they're going to be taking pictures all over the place, so I need to wear something that's fabulous from every angle." And I? Am usually not fabulous from every angle. Only from very particular angles. So yeah, there's that.
But mostly, I am SO excited to meet some of the bloggers who I've been talking to online for literally YEARS for the first time. That part, I think, will be awesome.
Newbies unite!!! Cracking up that we both wrote about this.
Oh, I'm jealous...
Get business cards if you don't already have some. vistaprint does some FREE all you have to pay for is shipping.
You will meet so many people, the cards are the best way to keep track of who you met and how to find them later.
Wear comfy clothes during the day. Sure, they can be stylish, but you may end up sitting on the floor for an hour or so at a time.
Bring something a little nicer for the evening if you want, but it's certainly not required. Last year I just brought a nicer shirt to change into and kept everything else the same.
Bring your laptop or PDA (duh).
Expect Twitter to FAIL at least twice, so get the cell #'s of people you REALLY want to be able to find in a heartbeat.
If you find yourself (gasp!) alone at any given time, walk up to another person standing (gasp!) alone and strike up a convo. I guarantee, both of you will be feeling better in no time, and you might even make a new friend.
Be prepared to have a BLAST!
Can't wait : )
Gosh, I wish I could go. I swear if I came into the money I would def be there. Your going to have so much fun and meet so many amazing people. Can't wait to hear all about it. :o)
i'm totally going to need some hand-holding on this trip. So outside my comfort zone!!!!

I'm glad I'm not the only newbie feeling this way! I'm excited to go, but get VERY shy in large groups where I don't know anyone. If I had even one friend I would feel better about going to parties and such. Hopefully someone will befriend me and be my blogher party buddy!
